About Okanagan Travel Guide

An independent guide built by someone who genuinely loves this region.

Why This Site Exists

The South Okanagan is one of the most spectacular regions in Canada world-class wine country, Canada’s only desert, the warmest freshwater lake in the country, roadside fruit stands dripping with fresh cherries, and hiking trails that overlook landscapes most Canadians don’t even know exist.

And yet most of the travel content out there is either a generic tourism board brochure or a listicle written by someone who spent a weekend there once. We wanted something better: a real, honest, detailed guide from someone who actually knows this place.

That’s what Okanagan Travel Guide is. We cover the region in depth the wineries worth your time (and the ones to skip), the fruit stands with the best cherries, the hiking trails that don’t show up on the big tourism sites, and practical advice for planning a trip that actually delivers.

What We Cover

Our Editorial Standards

Every recommendation on this site is made because we genuinely believe it’s worth your time or money not because someone paid us to say so. We use affiliate links (see our disclosure page) to keep the site free, but those relationships never influence what we recommend.

If something isn’t worth visiting, we’ll tell you. If a winery is overrated, we’ll say so. Honest travel advice is the only kind that’s actually useful.
